Equity research · SEC filings · Automation

Fifteen years reading filings for fund managers. Now some of it runs by itself.

I have spent my career in equity research for hedge funds, asset managers and investment banks: building the models, writing the notes, and running the team that does it. The products below do the first read of a filing the way that team would, within minutes of it reaching SEC, and send it to you by email.

Products

Three emails, one for each filing that matters.

Each is read from the company's own filing, with every figure taken or worked out from it. No consensus, no view on the stock. Under each is a real email, as sent, all three for the same company. Pick the companies you cover and which emails you want.

  • Revenue by segment and by driver: volume, price, currency
  • The EPS bridge: operations, tax, share count, the rest
  • Cash, working capital and capital spending

Background

Research, then the team that does it.

2016 – now

Assistant Director, Equity Research

Lead a buy-side research team serving hedge funds and asset managers: delivery quality, client relationships, the team's P&L, and new client pilots taken through to long-term mandates. Review and build the models behind the work: full three-statement models with segment and KPI-driven revenue builds, initiation-grade valuation, and earnings updates turned round on the night of the print. Investment memos and thematic research on top.

2015 – 2016

Research Analyst, Equity Research

Sell-side coverage of banks and telecoms. Bank models built from the balance sheet up: loan and deposit growth, net interest margin, fee income, cost of risk and capital, valued on DCF and residual income. Telecom models driven by subscribers, ARPU and capex intensity. Quarterly earnings notes.

2014 – 2015

Senior Business Analyst, Equity Research

Bank coverage for an investment bank. Initiated coverage on eight banks: residual income and excess return models, earnings forecasts by business line, and Basel III capital adequacy modelling of risk-weighted assets and capital ratios.

2011 – 2013

Research Analyst, Equity Research

Semiconductor coverage for a hedge fund: thirty-plus companies across Asia. Integrated models driven by shipments, ASPs, utilisation and wafer capacity, with DCF valuation and competitor benchmarking behind long/short ideas.
